Today is Nate’s Birthday Party Eve. Not the night before Nate’s actual birthday (last week), but the night before his party. He’s the fourth child, so we party for his birthday when it’s most convenient for the rest of the family.
We celebrated his actual birthday on Sunday with church, lunch with dear friends, a DQ ice-cream cake, and then a couple MORE treats.
Speaking of being the fourth child, Nate’s love language is sugar. His actual party will be at a Orange Leaf, complete with lots of frozen yogurt and plenty of toppings. For our two-year-old, nothing spells F-E-S-T-I-V-E like dogs eating cake. And Nerds. And Reeses. And gummy hot dogs. And (hopefully) a three-layer cake.
I know. His sugar addiction is a bit much. Especially since the rest of our family isn’t even that into sugar. I’ve been trying to avoid it to help my health. The other kids’ taste buds formed in a low-sugar household, so they don’t really crave it.
If I haven’t mentioned, Nate craves the stuff. Mucho addiction.
Which explains the big sugar extravaganza tomorrow.
Here’s hoping the other guests’ moms don’t hate me.
And that our dog/sugar party doesn’t get as out-of-control as this one in a tree.
