And Now We All Need Naps

We all need naps.
Well, except Nate. He naps all day. Which is really a problem at night when he is, of course, wide awake.
M. has come down with a nasty sinus infection. And yes, really, really needs a nap. Even though I’m handling the middle-of-the-night feedings with No-Nap Nate, M. isn’t sleeping well because we’re kind of noisy. And the one thing M. really needs to kick this infection is lots of sleep. Naps.
Even Catie, who hasn’t taken a nap since the last time there was a really good bribe involved, clearly needs a break from being a big sister–which means running around bringing Nate toys designed for a six-month-old.
Sam and Ellie gave their naps up this summer, but that was before the flurry of activity and the excitement of grandparents visiting that came with Nate.
Now? Their eyelids are heavy, they’re floppy and marshmallow-faced and clearly exhausted. If I had the energy, I would battle them into naps.
Actually, surprisingly, I do have a lot of energy. Not that I don’t need a nap, but I don’t feel as bone-tired, needing-of-a-nap as I have with the other babies.
Which is probably directly related to the caffeine therapy.
