Friends, I need your help.
No, not help with coercing these little rockers of the beach house roof–although that’s probably not a bad idea. But, truthfully, I’m leaving them there. Their screaming version of JESUS LOVES ME brightens my day.
I need help finding some Christian pop music for our kids. The Third Grade at Catie’s school is OBSESSED with Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, and the guy who sings Gangum (sp?) Style. Catie is intrigued with all of this. And, because, Catie is intrigued with it all, her three younger siblings are too.
But, because they’re young and not very good at listening, none of them can really understand the lyrics. And, because, the other music we hear is church music, the kids substitute Jesus lyrics for words they don’t know from Justin Bieber songs.
Here’s what I’m saying: at any given moment, some kid in our house is singing, “Oh, Baby, baby, baby…Jesus loves, you, loves you, loves you.”
I’m not kidding.
In the back of my head, I’ve been reminding myself to, “DOWNLOAD SOME CHRISTIAN POP MUSIC!” But then an IKEA catalog or something distracts me, and I lose my focus.
And then this happened this morning…Catie was listening to Nate singing, “Gangum Style! Hey! Pretty Jesus!” she looked at me and asked, “Can you talk to your friends about some Jesus songs that are, like, rock music?”
Here’s where you come in…can you tell me your favorite, bubble-gum pop, Christian rock?
Just give me your very best upbeat, fun Christian songs and I’ll get them right on my iPhone.
Thanks. You’re as wonderful as those two rockers up there.
I used to listen to Plus one but that was back in the day and is “like SO 2002!” They were the Christian answer to Nsync and since boy bands are out, I assume Plus One is out too.
Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog. I actually saw that post last week when you tweeted it…after miscarraige looked to be on its way. I have had it open on my iPhone browser every day since then and read it over and over. If IVF is in our future, that post has helped ease my fears of it. It blessed me more than you know.
I asked Scott…Britt Nicole songs such as Amazing Life, Ready or Not, Who you say you are…and of course Second Baptist music too! – M
Tina, My kids like Toby Mac, Mandisa & Jamie Grace. Or just turn on KSBJ radio. We had the same problems with music & now the kids & I all love Christian music! ~Catherine 🙂
