1. So much love and support for the families in Newtown. This article makes me smile every time I read it. (Lutheran) dogs comforting kids? That’s the job I want.
2. Next Christmas, if I have the tremendous idea the kids should decorate sugar cookies for their classmates, remind me of their proficiency in applying to toothpaste to their toothbrushes and point out squeezing frosting from a tube may turn out the same way. A crazy mess, in case you’re wondering how that turns out. So, yeah. Remind me some nice candy canes may be the better way to go.
3. It looks like we’re rescuing a Greyhound this Saturday! Our dog is very fast and raced in 45 races. The kids are so busy trying to think of a name. Right now the leader is Emmanuel…as in “Come, come, Emmanuel!” (Manny for short.) Get it? Since he’s so fast? I’m guessing the Greyhound group won’t find that as funny as we do. The runner-up name is Haste (as in the shepherds made Haste to find Mary, Joseph, and the Baby lying in the manger). If you can think of any other fast, Christmas dog names, leave them in the comments. The kids have vetoed Blitzen and Prancer.
4. God is so good, all the time.
