Like I’ve written before, our lives look hipper through the Hipstamatic lens. Recently I’ve discovered the app everyone else with an iPhone loves: Instagram. If you’re on Instagram, I’m chergenrader, and we can follow each other or be friends or whatever the cool kids call it.
If you’re not on Instagram (hi, mom), here are some recent pictures all Instagrammed up so our family looks so much more retro and edgy while still doing our normal activities (like testing the safety of sandbox roller coasters).
I love a picture of my eight-year-old about to roll over my toddler at high speeds as much as the next mom (not), but the bright color in this one is especially nice. Really captures the…danger.
Here’s the beautiful death-defying eight-year-old in her iridescent and glowing paleness–made all the more iridescent by Instagram.
It’s somewhat surprising our kids are still pale when the weather here has been so sunny and so beautiful. And they love to be outside. Elisabeth stood in front of this palm tree to show it to Grandma.
Elisabeth, who loves posing for pictures, also loves taking them,. Last week at the park she used my phone for this one.  I have no idea why I look so angry. I blame the aviator sunglasses, which I’ve never really been able to pull off.
Last week we also stopped by the Dollar Store, where we found this display. Racks and racks of Pop Tarts…all under the sign, “Gourmet! Fancy! Food!” Nice.

Nate and I at Whole Foods, where we spent the better part of an hour  rocking on a whale.

Elisabeth is always eager to pose, especially to demonstrate her ballet moves. This picture nicely shows the swing set shenanigans of her brother and sister in the background.
And this one shows the swimming pool shenanigans of her little brother in the background.

Love the color and illumination in this one. Loved sharing these pictures and love Instagram!
