We had planned to go. We had planned to package up the entire family and fly into Detroit (a couple hours from the wedding), rent a car, stop at an orchard and pick apples and make them into cider. We had planned to take all the kids to their first wedding and dance and celebrate and stay up to late and make a bunch of family memories.
Instead we decided that would be too much for our crew–especially me going through this Herxheimer detox.
So, we celebrated in in Houston instead. The dear friends who were celebrating the wedding helped us to join in remotely. Aunt Katie bought us Honeycrisp apples (like we could find in Michigan) and hot apple cider. We ate and drank and toasted Paul and Melissa, from a thousand miles away.
And then we toasted good health, and more family memories to come.
