(with appropriate picture of the new SLIDE in our playroom. An indoor slide? Definite UP. Even though Nate is afraid to go DOWN solo.)
Other Ups…
…Nate LOVES having mommy all to himself. With his brothers and sisters gone all day, he’s a silly, animated boy. It’s like he’s trying to keep my attention on him.
…all kids have made it to their school/bus/babysitter on-time. Hair (mostly) ponytailed. Shoes (mostly) comfortable. Socks (mostly) matching.
…my infusions (IV drips) three times a week are helping me feel better. With all these vitamins and drugs, last week’s cold didn’t dare stay in my system.
…we are incredibly blessed with good friends. Because of our amazing friends and neighbors, I’ve been able to do these long infusion appointments. They love on us and on Nate…and never let us leave without homemade dinners.
Some Downs of the Week…
…my veins are more ragged than an heroin addict’s. For the nurse to start the IV, it takes several blown veins and several tries. OUCH! I laugh now about my past hospital stays and complaining about blown veins. Turns out they’re way more common than I ever wanted to know.
…the kids are getting tired. Tripping a lot. Whining. Their socks seem to bother them more than socks should bother a kid. Sam’s hair hurts.
…Nate is getting his molars and HE’S NOT HAPPY. Oh, these Hergenrader kids and their freakishly early teething.
…M is busy at work and tired. Perfect timing for some R and R this weekend.
BUT…I leave you of the UP of the playroom slide again.
Have a great Friday.
