So, the twins’ new room arrangement may not be extreme, but it is a makeover.

These new PBK Anywhere Chairs (Elisabeth’s in bright pink polka dot, Sam’s in blue and red) inspired the new configuration. Well, the chairs, and Mommy’s need to mix it up a bit.
Which, it seems by talking to my friends, inspires lots of room redos.
Four-year-olds never say things like, “It so hard for us to fall asleep at night since our beds are touching and we giggle instead of closing our eyes.” or “Does it seem like we’ve accumulated a bit too much stuff, like twisted pipe cleaners that we call ‘crowns’ but really just sit on our bookshelf and hog the space intended for our 1,945 books?”
So, for this Mommy a room makeover was in order.
And, when moving the STUFF of two four-year-olds, it does become a bit extreme. Because if one kid likes her bed being next to the door, the other one insists on that too. Ditto for his bed next to the closet. Or the window.
Which led to M and me declaring, “THIS IS THE WAY YOUR ROOM WILL BE OR ELSE YOU CAN SLEEP ON THE FLOOR.”
Of course that made all the kids beg to sleep on the floor.
Sheesh.
But now their room is arranged, complete with the matching lamps and rugs and CD players they got for their birthdays.
And those lamps and CD players have inspired marathon dance parties with the lights out and the music blaring and pre-school mosh pits.
Which is, in a word, extreme.
