It was a weekend of saltwater for us:
… unexpected tears on Nate’s birthday. Mine when I realized our baby was no longer an official baby. Of course, he’s still crawling, babbling, drinking from a bottle, sucking a paci, and sleeping in a crib. But not for long. And that brought an unexpected pain to my heart that resulted in saltwater in my eyes.
… sweat (not at all unexpected since it is Texas in July). But, still, LOTS of sweat. On Friday as I cleaned for Nate’s birthday dinner. On Saturday at the shower family friends threw for their daughter-in-law. On Sunday afternoon with our family in the pool. Lots of saltwater running down our bodies in the form of sweat.
…the sea. Saturday night was a fun girls’ night for me with a dear childhood friend. We went for a long walk next to the roaring saltwater waves, with the sea breeze so strong, I barely sweated. We sat on the deck of her beach house and reminisced and laughed so hard that (you guessed it) tears ran down my cheeks. More saltwater.
The cure for everything.
