One week ago today we were driving home from my folks’ house in Kansas. Nate had been sick with the freaky virus. Ellie was a bit whiny on the that thirteen-plus-hour road trip. She slept more. Wasn’t comfortable.

Tip of the iceberg.
Then we got home, and a new Ellie emerged.
She came down with Nate’s full-fledged, freaky, nasty virus.
She ran an ER-worthy fever on Sunday. And 104 on Monday. And 103 on Tuesday. As well as passing it on to Sam.
Back to the pediatrician on Wednesday to receive the diagnosis…
“Nasty virus.”
Yesterday she was finally fever-free.
But still whiny. Cabin-fevered. Worn out.
Now we’re pumping the liquids and hoping our sweet Ellie will feel like her cheerful self again.
Unmistakable angel’s kiss on her forehead and all.
