Odd Vacation Time-Lapse

We’ve been on vacation for two weeks, and our family has entered that Odd Vacation Time-Lapse.

We don’t remember what pictures hang on our walls at home. No one recall what we eat for dinner there. Do we have a mail box? An answering machine? These devices seem like things we used years ago.

Speaking of years…our kids are doing that Odd Vacation Time Lapse thing where they age years (okay, months) in just a few days. It’s being away from home that does it. It’s jno rules or bedtime or anything but hot dogs for dinner that does it. It’s the adventures of fishing and tubing at the cabin that ages them.

Suddenly Nate is a big kid without a high chair.

Sam is a bigger brother who tickles him–and in a sweet way, not the usual tickles-him-until-he-squeals way.

Catie calls us mom and dad rather than mommy and daddy.

And it’s all so fun to watch.

And will be even more fun when we’re home and not eating hot dogs for every dinner.
