Meet the other half of our lives.
Outside. (Nate, outside. Outside, Nate.)
For your first six and a half months, you’ve become so familiar with the playroom. You have learned the joys of your high chair and your older siblings who don’t understand an appropriate amount of fruit puffs for someone your age.
You have seen the world from the coziness of your infant carrier. Yes, you have mostly seen the faces of your siblings in the backseat as they’re shuttled to school, scouts, soccer, gymnastics, and ballet. Yes, your infant carrier, now weighing 600 pounds, is the reason I, your mother, will one day need neck surgery to repair the damage of lugging it around.
But, my son, you and I will soon be unleashed from the carrier.
It’s almost spring in South Texas. This means entire afternoons playing in the grass! in the swings! on the back of dad’s bike! in the neighborhood park!
Dare I say it?
IN THE POOL!
Nate, little man, meet the great outdoors.
You have no idea the fun you’ll have in the NEXT six months.
Love,
Mommy
