On Friday we got a new kitchen table. M was home from work with a stomach bug that wrecked havoc on our family. But it was nice to have him here for the table delivery…and to enjoy at last lunch at our old table.

A table where…
…each of our kids has learned to eat. (Based on Ellie’s position in this picture, learned with varying degrees of success.)
…M and I have celebrated over a dozen Christmases and Easters. First when it was our dining room table and then as our kitchen.
…our family has laughed until milk came out of our noses (mostly Sam), danced around, even though it was smack-dab in the middle of dinner (mostly Catie), shared our highs and lows (Ellie likes this dinner game), and cried (Nate, most recently.)
…eaten lots and lots. I think our kids have devoured over a thousand chicken nuggets, over a million pieces of cheese. And fruit puffs? That’s in the billions.
…we’re happy to say goodbye to this old, scuffed up table. Well, not actually goodbye since it’s still in our garage. If you want it, for family memories of your own, let me know.
