A Christmas Story: Entry One

There are very few photos that really capture a genuine moment in our lives.

This picture captures the Hergenrader Family’s Saturday afternoon stroll through the mall. And the moment we saw Santa.
With no line.
And even though we had left the house SEVEN hours before. And driven over a hundred miles around the city running errands (North to IAH to drop Grandma off for her flight and then to Sugarland for a Chuck E. Cheese dinner with the Wards), our family was still going strong.
Actually, based on how crazy we look in this picture, “still going strong” is an overstatement.
What is not an overstatement is how much I love this tiny snapshot of our lives.
From Ellie’s expression to Nate’s Santa outfit to Catie’s snaggletoothed smile to Sam’s jewelry…there is too much awesomeness in this photo–certainly too much for one blog post. It’ll take a few.
For tonight, I hope this snippet of our lives has made you smile.
If not, check out Sam’s soccer socks.
Otherwise known as tights.
And yes, we are all really wearing matching Husker gear.
