Wow.

Yesterday was crazy.
Not it’s-February-and-my-kids-are-swimming crazy.
Crazy busy.
M’s mom has been here, and he left early to take her to the airport. We were sad to see her go. The girls were dramatic. Sam cried. And Nate laughed.
I got Catie on the bus while the twins whined about various parts of their shoe-putting-on-process. And Nate laughed.
I took the twins to school, where it’s T week, and their teacher brought her pet turtle. The three-year-olds oohed and aahed over it. And Nate laughed.
At home I raced around the house to clean it for our afternoon visitors. I ran from room to room with laundry and Windex and kids’ underwear in varying sizes. And Nate laughed.
Ballet is the highlight of Ellie’s week. Nate and Sam and I waited in the hallway while the girls practiced for their upcoming recital. Sam has a new duck noise he makes ALL THE TIME. He ate fruit snacks. And quacked. And Nate laughed.
We barely made it home to host Catie’s Girl Scout meeting. Oh my. A dozen girls ran and sang and crafted and screamed all through the house. And Nate laughed.
We ushered out Troop 17831 out with just enough to time to feed four kids, bathe four kids, pj four kids and brush four mouths of teeth. The kids, high on Girl Scout snacks and life, loved the drama of hosting two events in one day. And Nate laughed.
Before you can say Holy Turnaround! our Bible study group arrived for cupcakes and spinach dip and God’s Word.
And Nate would have laughed about this, but he was asleep.
Worn out from (you guessed it)
all that laughing.
