Today was the day.
About two years ago, CPH contracted me to write their VBS. For months I struggled with how to make bagels snacks relate to baby Moses. How to make basketball connect with him in a …basket. How to make Jesus HIGH ENERGY! enough for hundreds of kids who are used to spending their summers with MarioKart.
And, like I’ve mentioned before, I sweated and slaved over those ideas in my own personal prison of writing. Which, I actually enjoy a lot.
And then I mailed off the deadline, said a prayer it would help kids grow in their faith, and barely thought of it again.
Except when every church in a 100 mile radius (our own church included) chose to do a VBS that barely mentions Jesus–HIGH ENERGY or not. Ugh. Don’t get me started.
But I digress.
TODAY the three big kids and I drove to our friend’s church to participate in Big Jungle Adventure. The VBS I WROTE!
And yes, evidenced by Catie’s face here, they were HIGH ENERGY for Jesus!
