Sam and Ellie went back to school this morning in an—oh, my goodness this is EARLY—morning rush. Which makes the above Christmas break picture that much more sweet.
What we took a break from for two weeks over Christmas…
…Nutrition (evidenced by the pancakes, M&Ms in the pancakes and big ol’ stick of BUTTER). Fudge wasn’t in this picture, but that doesn’t mean M. and I didn’t eat it (yes for breakfast) for two weeks straight. Oh and candy-cane Hershey kisses. Has anyone else tried these? So good.
…Logic. Yes, M. is using Ellie’s brand new Christmas flipper to make the pancakes. I don’t think I need to tell you that making pancakes for a family of six is easier when one does not allow a three-year-old close to the sputtering griddle. But we’re all about experiences over logic here. Even when there’s a trusty adult-sized flipper within arm’s reach.
…Fashion sense. Yes, that’s spit-up on M’s shoulder. You can’t see it in this picture, but Ellie’s shirt still has the tags on it. I wore sweat pants for two weeks straight. The girls did their own hair (‘nuff said.). It was a cruel reality this morning when the twins had to put on their uniforms after approximately twenty days of Husker t-shirts and sparkly skirts.
