Candy and Games and Jesus!

Love, love, love that’s what it’s all about!

And this Valentines Day there’s so much that we love…
…candy! I’m embarrassed to admit the grams of sugar in the kids’ treats began with a 5. And was a two digit number. Holy Sugar Rush!
…games! Catie has this new game that we play at the dinner table. We pass around some object (usually a yucky napkin since our table always has plenty of those), and she sings a song. When she stops singing, whoever has the napkin shares a blessing in his/her life. Fun and cute game. But, as a youngest child, I can’t help but notice birth order politics in full-effect here. Can you imagine if Nate invented such a game six years from now? His gang of older siblings wouldn’t even let him finish the directions before they trounced over it with their opinions. For oldest sister Catie, the whole group sits transfixed. And it’s fun to hear the kids’ blessings. So far, “no owies today” is at the top of their lists.
…Jesus! Love this picture of Ellie at her school Valentine party. Their school is wonderful. One of our fave parts are all of the Jesus pictures in their classroom. So important for non-readers to SEE Jesus. This picture (Hook’s Jesus) is who they’ll envision when they pray, when they need comfort, when they share Him with their friends. Just one of the million parts of their school that’s giving them a firm faith foundation.
And what’s not to love about that?
