For those of you following along at home, our second day to Disneyland was injury-free, save some scrapes and bruises of unknown origin. Actually, the origin was known, it’s called six tired kids walking around on concrete for ten hours.
But they were all troopers, and the eye injury from the day before barely slowed Sam down. Or not at all since he explored Tom Sawyer’s Island and went on as many rides as he could.
Yesterday was Princess Day for our crew. Amy’s brother and kids came along and Elisabeth hit it off with their little princess. The two girls were thrilled to serve as whale watchers on a cruise to Storybook Land. So glad this particular cruise didn’t end like the Triumph. I couldn’t have handled the red bag situation with kids who have questionable bathroom habits.
The Princesses did not disappoint. We got a sneak peek to the Fantasy Faire, which opens today. Incidentally, the opening of the Fantasy Faire is the reason we are sitting today out from Disney. But, yesterday! Princess autographs and conversations about kingdoms and so many pictures.
The Soundsational Parade was just that…sensational–with lots of sounds! I mean, until Mary Poppins’ float broke down, causing a major crowd backup, right in front of us. Just so you know, Amy’s expression in the picture below was BEFORE the crowd crushed into our party of ten. Look to Clara and Catie’s expressions for the excited parade-watchers.
Our family favorite ride of the day was It’s a Small World. We loved it because 1) no one got scared (can’t say the same for Pirates of the Caribbean) 2) the line wasn’t too long (can’t say the same for Dumbo 3) it didn’t spin around (can’t say the same for the teacups–or so I heard) 4) there was no human cage (can’t say the same for Casey’s Train 5) Nate hugged Mike and me (his seat companions) and told us he was SO HAPPY and 6) the song, of course.
