I don’t know how this has become the Hergenrader Health blog. Just yesterday, M commented that bestoftimes was looking a little desperate for some non-illness related love.
We’ve had quite a couple of weeks around here. Tummy virus (x4 kids), Coughing virus (x4 kids). Tuesday I took Nate into the doctor for his cough…and found out he had a double ear infection and bronchitis.
I know. Mother of the year.
No sooner did Nate get on his antibiotic prescription and I started with a fever and sore throat and chills and headache and throwing up.
You know, everyone is good at something. Some people are good at directions. Or math. Or music.
I am good at catching strep throat.
Is there a job for this somewhere? Could I make money donating my throat as a living petri dish for the strep bacteria?
After I waited for THREE HOURS today at the Urgent Care, the doctor informed me that it’s surprising that I get strep throat so often because “it’s really a school-age infection.”
Ha. This just proves that getting strep throat is my calling in life. We have THREE school aged kids, but when our family meets the strep virus, bet on me to walk away with the scarlet fever rash (above) and fever EVERY TIME.
Hopefully the antibiotics will have kicked in by tomorrow and I can return to my regularly-scheduled blogs about kid antics.
And not my talent for hosting strep bacteria.
