Above you see photographic proof that Fall may finally be making an appearance in Texas. In other words, it’s been almost two weeks with no three-digit temps. We’re all thrilled.
First photographic proof…long sleeves. Nate is a sweaty kid. He’s always hot, always with a wet hairline, never wants any more clothes than necessary. But even this kid asked for long sleeves. Of course, it might have been the balls on the shirt that attracted him. But balls as Christmas ornaments…how cute is that?
Second, there are more leaves in the pool than kids. We’ve reached that sad season when the swimming pool is a magnet for debris. Oh, how we all miss using it for its true purpose–long summer afternoons. At dinner last night the kids starting reminiscing about swimming season. Sam and Elisabeth even relived their birthday party, which they seemed to believe was twelve years ago. Wasn’t that just last week? And if it wasn’t, why haven’t I gotten around to putting away those Super Hero Cape Craft Supplies?
Third, the yard is looking a little bald. I don’t know why this always happens, but our yard looks so skimpy in the winter. Maybe the grass is sad from the absence of eight little feet spending all day in it. Or maybe it needs fertilizer or something.
Maybe I should be out there fertilizing the yard right now.
Right after I get those Super Hero Capes put away.
