Today’s post is a continuation of our NEW BEDS series. For the rest of you who might have lost interest in this topic six posts ago, feel free to click away today. For loyal reader, Jen Ward, who not only supports all this bed-building nonsense, but even ASKS for updates, this one is for you. Sorry again for missing Friday. It’s the beds that are doing this to my brain. And all the spray paint.

To transform four Kura beds into a wildflower garden (x2), a fire truck, and a police car, we first had to spray paint them. For hours on the driveway. M’s legs and brain cells may never recover. Neither will our driveway.

And so that each kid could have their very own “cave” (boy term) or “apartment” (girl term), complete with chalkboards to draw on, M had to figure out how these crazy beds fit together, which piece went which direction, and then make some chalkboards on this giant Tetris puzzle.
Sam (a-hem) helped. So did Catie, and so did Elisabeth. Actually the next picture probably shows the most helping the kids did. Standing outside, yelling encouraging things to M, and putting down their cans of spray paint.

Oh, and for Sam, gazing lovingly at his hero, his Daddy, who spends his entire weekend building fire truck beds.
