It’s been a good week for the Hergenrader girls.

Actually, it’s been a good week for the Hergenrader boys, too, but this post is about the girls.
That’s Ellie, leading the boys in fire-fighting safety at the fire truck ride yesterday (more about that in another post).
Catie bridged to be a Brownie this week in a Girl Scout, rah-rah, I-am-woman-hear-me-roar kind of ceremony.
I survived almost all week with M out of town.
Actually, Ellie wasn’t the only fire extinguisher as far as the women-folk around here are concerned…
At Catie’s Bridging Ceremony the tables were decorated with daisy votives (she was a Daisy before she became a Brownie). When we blew ours out, hot wax flew everywhere. Actually mostly on my hands, but a little landed on Nate. Catie was the quick-thinker who cleaned it up. With her own bare hands…and not even a fire-fighter sized hose.
And a week alone with the kids?
I did plenty of putting out fires. My methods involved lots of time-outs…
…and just a little squirting with water.
