Labor Day in Galveston: Family Favorites

Tina: several evenings walking along the beach, kids running together (or not), looking for shells and sharks and treasures, with the sound of the surf and the peace of the breeze

Mike: time to unwind, including an early morning run, when he actually saw a (3 foot!) shark washed on shore, and the fun of telling the kids about the adventure, in a place and time when everything seemed like an adventure
Catie: having several of her friends (and their families) down for a birthday party, making mermaids in the beach with those friends, finding beautiful olive shells the next morning
Sam: the sand! the space to run! the waves! the crabs! the adventure!
Elisabeth: a silly twin by her side, a big sister to invent adventures, a little brother to watch her “shows” on the sand
Nate: 40 mph tropical-storm winds meant his first cool evening in months…the flying sand? not so much a favorite. Daddy’s arms all weekend? Yes. Definitely.
