Laura Geske’s Heavenly Home

This weekend a tragedy wrecked havoc on a family close to my parents. Good friends of theirs lost their daughter, Laura, and two of their grandchildren in a senseless accident.

Laura was driving and her her husband, Jeff, was in the passenger seat when a car crossed the median and crashed into them.

The family had kids our exact ages. Besides the deep sadness of this accident, that has made this hit very close to home for M and me.

As I haven’t been able to sleep the past couple nights, I’ve thought about how busy Laura must have been, right up until the time of the accident. Thinking about laundry and lunches and school forms and doctors’ visits and report cards. So much, and for what?

Jeff, (who, like Laura, went to Concordia with me), posted these words on his Facebook page. What a powerful testimony, even in the middle of his grief:

Eventually, God has given me the answer. Knowing Laura, the very most important thing was on her mind, teaching her kids about Jesus, and motivated all the other busy-ness.

Thank you! I would like to thank everyone for the words and love shown to me during this most difficult time at the death of Laura and Joshua and Joy. I rejoice knowing that they are now in heaven with our Savior Jesus. I miss them so much, but I know that one great and glorious day, they will along with Jesus welcome me home to heaven. May this difficult time for me remind you and encourage you to continue to express your love to your family. They are so precious and truly a gift from God on loan to us. May God comfort you as He is comforting me. Never forget how much God loves you! John 3:16-17
Take comfort in the five most important words you can ever know which are, “Jesus died for my sins! Jesus loves you and so I ask and encourage you to love others and share His love,
forgiveness, and salvation with them. Heaven is our home!
