Rumor is that Matthew Broderick will reprise his role as Ferris for a Super Bowl commercial. In honor of that, my favorite FBDO quote:

“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

Some things I want to slow down and remember, so I don’t forget:

Nate: He has progressed from drunken sailor walking (sorry for the stereotype to any sailors out there; I know that not all of you are drunk) to the cute walking where he lifts each foot so high with every step. And holds out his arms. Really, he could stop growing now for a while. Just because I love watching this.

Sam: Even though Sam is trying his darndest to be a big boy, he still tells me, about once a day, “Mommy. You are so cute.” He also tells me, “Mommy, you are so skinny.” But this is usually when I’m wearing something like leggings with a too-short shirt. And he’s looking right at my former-held-twins belly.

Elisabeth: She’s going through a reading phase. Every day, for about an hour, she crawls onto my lap with book after book. Her little body fits perfectly around mine. This is all much to the chagrin of her little and big brother, who insist on reclaiming my lap as their own.

Catie: The girl has never, not ONE NIGHT gone to sleep without several hugs and kisses. It’s my standing joke with M. “So weird. Catie had trouble getting to sleep tonight without an extra hug.” And that’s on a good night. A bad night is dozens of extra hugs…and then crying herself to sleep when M and me finally call uncle. May she always want to hug us goodnight.
