These past couple days have left me feeling a little raw. My dad’s surgery combined with BackIntoTheRoutine-itis, a mounting to-do list, and a sudden cold snap that has taken away our beautiful 75-degree days = woe is me.
And it’s only Tuesday.
I never posted a What I’m Thankful For List. Today such a list seems like an excellent anecdote to the blahs.
1. I’m thankful for this picture. I’m so thankful Sam still can’t read, so I can dress him up in this shirt: “If you think I’m cute, you should see my mom.” Ha ha. I’m guessing he’ll refuse it when he’s 15.
2. Also, this picture because of the sunshine. And those smiling faces. Will Elisabeth ever stop wearing this skirt? If she does, I’ll have SO MUCH photographic proof of how much she loved it.
3. My dad is recovering nicely after surgery. Praise the Lord! The scary part is over and now we’re just basking in God’s powerful presence and thanking Him.
4. Thanksgiving was so fun. More on that tomorrow, but I’m so thankful for the chance to be with family.
5. My sister-in-law and I hit the San Marcos Outlets super early on Black Friday. Even though it was pretty crazy, it was so fun. And we got good deals on useful items like new Sperrys and a super cute purse from Kate Spade. (Just to clarify, we both bought our own Sperrys, and I bought the purse. I was afraid it sounded like we were going to share the purse. Which would be hard 800 miles away from each other). I’ve always wanted to do some serious Black Friday shopping, but I’ve been pregnant, or the mom of a little baby for the past NINE Thanksgivings. The deals on Friday didn’t disappoint.
6. We’ve been traveling so much lately that I think we’ll have enough frequent flier miles to pay for part of our future trip this spring. This is very good news since airline tickets are like $300,000,000.
It’s the little things.
What little things are you thankful for right now?
