Prayers of Thankfulness and Love (and pleas for help)

Lord, thank You for Your gifts. Thank You for the children You have given us, Lord. You tell us in Your Word, Lord, we can see who our Creator is by seeing His Creation. I see You, Lord, in the eager faith of my children. I see You, Lord, in the love of the people who are helping. I see You, Lord, in the prayers and  unwavering faith of so many around me.
Thank You for welcoming into your arms those children who we’ve lost here on Earth. You are sovereign, Lord. Remind us of that. Whisper that in our hearts so we can share Your message with the world. Open the hearts and minds of those who don’t know You, Lord. Help them see You are truly our Creator. You redeem us from the horrible sins that torment our hearts, give us the seed of faith to believe that.
Dear Father, comfort each of us right here and right now. Give us your peace that is deeper than our minds can understand. Surround us with Your love and Your joy. Please, Lord.
For our community here in Texas, for the families in Connecticut who don’t know what to do next, for kids who are scared in their schools today…I ask you to come and permeate our hearts with your love.
Come, Lord Jesus, Come into our sinful hearts.
Amen.

I lead a Moms in Prayer group. Following is the prayer our Connecticut coordinator shared with us.

Oh, Lord, restore us unto yourself. Revive us again. Show us your unfailing love. We pray that you direct us praying moms into your presence on behalf of the hurting families in Newtown and Sandy Hook. Help us to see your work of good despite this act of evil by Satan. Help us to be a light in the darkness of fear and anxiety that permeates our culture.
In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
