I’m always wearing my rose-colored glasses, which is super wonderful most of the time. But not so super-wonderful when I realize my rosy view of the world has led me down the wrong path.
Speaking of paths, I took this picture of the path in our backyard. If you’re like me, you see a graceful crane sunning itself in the gorgeous sunshine.
If you’re like some other people (M), you see the optimal nesting ground for dozens of Water Moccasins. I mean, he really did see dozens of water moccasins at this spot–or one, actually. But for M, who has a snake phobia, seeing one Water Moccasin means there are dozens lying low that he CAN’T see.
So, on this National Day of Prayer, I thank God for my rose-colored glasses. I thank Him that cups are never half-empty or half-full to me, but always overflowing. I thank Him for His grace that lets me see all the good in His Creation.
And, I really thank Him for my wonderful husband, who diligently protects our family from the (metaphorical and real) snakes prowling in the grass.
Amen.
