For just about two years now these two best buddies have been known as The Sams. When they met as brand-new three-year-olds, they quickly bonded over their shared name. And the fact they were the only two boys in their Pre-K 3 class. And they both enjoy making silly sounds. And laughing, in general.
And, really, what more do four-year-old boys need?
Apparently Sam H. (not to be confused with Sam S.) needed to complicate things a bit.
He needed to mix it up.
In the form of changing his name.
Sooooooo….stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but Sam H. no longer wants to be called Sam H.
He wants to be called Samuel.
It’s not nine-letters complicated (a-hem, Elisabeth), but six letters is still a stretch for a kid who struggles with writing SAM.
So far he’s talked his teacher into his new moniker. And his classmates. And his twin.
We’ll see if it sticks.
And if he’ll still want to be Samuel when he realizes he’ll no longer share a name with his BFF.
At least they can still bond over the silly sounds.
