Okay, so this swamp isn’t smack-dab in our backyard, but it’s close. Sometimes too close when I imagine the alligators that live in here…and how this swamp is connected to oxbow behind our house.
On our walk this weekend, our family discovered just how much the drought had affected the natural eco-system of the bayou that runs through our neighborhood. The slime/algae/green gunk is thick and really a sight.
So, I couldn’t resist this picture on Halloween. I’m sure I’ll get more tonight, of all the kids (reluctantly) in their costumes.
But for now, here’s the spooky green slime and creepy shadowy trees to make your day even more festive.
