Catie has lost the second of her two front teeth.
And the timing was perfect.
My little performer has always been able to work a crowd–and she didn’t disappoint when she lost her second front tooth (one of the Really Noticeable Ones) in front of the eleven of us who were celebrating Thanksgiving together.
Catie’s long-history of Perfect Timing of Significant Moments…
1) She rolled over at exactly four months…in front of Grandma, Papa, Aunt Melanie, and Uncle Matt–and M. and me too.
2) She took her first steps in front of all her grandparents–and M. and me too.
3)This year, the Toothless Thanksgiving. With a restless/captive audience of the Wards and Hergenraders basking in our post-feast lounging, Catie marched over to me and said, “Pull out my tooth.” I twisted a bit and sure enough, it was in my hand.
Catie bled and grinned and posed for the group.
Meanwhile every other kid in the room started to twist their own two front teeth.
Except Nate. He was in his bouncer chair, quietly growing the millimeter-tall front, right tooth.
Without anyone really noticing.
I guess growing teeth isn’t a crowd pleaser like losing them is.
Or else our family is only blessed with one performer.
