He’s different than the others, that’s for sure.
Besides his (frequently mentioned here) delay in walking, there’s also his slow start talking.
Looking at the pictures of the other kids on their second Thanksgiving (highly comparable since they’re all summer birthdays) is startling. The other kids were walking and talking and looked like toddlers. Nate is still such a baby.
A baby who does things like climbs up this step stool while I’m snapping pictures of our Christmas decorating festivities. In milliseconds, he was at the top, grabbing ornaments off the tree and pitching them.
That’s right, tossing them with his powerful-fast-ball pitch.
Shattering that bear pictured above, which is no longer with us.

The others were all so cautious. They were observant. Reserved.
Not Nate. He saw a stool and an ornament, and he (literally) tackled it.
