Fierce is Our Best Look

Based on the above photographic evidence, I would say FIERCE is the best look for the Hergenrader family.
No, no, you say, you all look so NICE in Picture One. We’re trying to look nice, but it’s not really our look. While at the marathon expo, Nate was missing his nap. We may also have experienced a diaper shortage that day. So, that’s not a nice look on his face. That’s a look saying, “Why can’t I be home, in a dry diaper, playing Temple Run?” Oh, and the photo booth kind of freaked Sam out, so he looks stunned. Not nice, though. More scared the camera would actually shoot him.
Well, then, you might say, what about Picture Two? Y’all are SO SILLY! Based on the dozens of Silly Pictures I’ve been in over the years, I’m here to tell you I’m not a good silly poser. Too self-conscious, which is absolutely the death nail for silly pictures. Also for dressing up, which is why I’ve successfully avoided costumes since about 1997.
Really, it’s all in Picture Three. Here is where Sam’s angst about the camera shooting him translates into poetic posing. He’s fierce. Catie, too. Yes, of course, I can’t seem to pose fiercely properly either. But I feel like Nate’s “no-dry-diaper” fierce face cancels out my self-consciousness.
And, I’ve always said, Elisabeth’s best trait is her steadfastness (also her fashion sense). In these pictures, she beautifully shows her consistency by making just about the same face in every picture.
You gotta love her dependability.
Or maybe she’s just self conscious.
