Today’s Fraudulently Asked Questions is with Catie, the Hergenrader’s newest basketball star. Um, player.
FAQ #1: Catie, you’ve been practicing basketball for a month now. What’s your favorite part?
Catie: The cheers! After volleyball, my teammates and I realized that other teams had all these awesome chants and handshakes and prayer circles they did. We have vowed to come to games with the cutest cheers EVER. We will be prepared this year!
FAQ #2: What about baskets? Have you vowed to make those?
Catie: As it turns out, baskets are SO HARD to make. Our coaches keep telling us baskets will be important to winning games. But cheers are important to having fun. For example, we have this cute way of praying at the end of practice. It’s like a circle, but we all turn out holding hands. It takes technique, but we’re getting it!
FAQ #3: Um, okay. Keep up the hard work…on your cheers. Anything else you might want to do before your first game?
Catie: We do spend every practice running and doing drills. Which is fine, I guess. But I’m really wondering what the coach is planning for our game hairstyles. Maybe French Braids? We’ll just have to work on that, I guess. Luckily, we have a few more weeks of practice!
