Today’s FAQ is with Catie, proud member of Westlake’s new volleyball team. Because yesterday was her ninth birthday, and her first volleyball game EVER, and her team’s first game EVER, and her second week of school, we’re asking her today’s FAQ.
FAQ #1: The Westlake Volleyball team looks really happy. How was your first game?
Catie: So fun! We had only practiced three times before our game, so we weren’t really expecting to, you know, win. But the important part was that we had so much fun. We all like our uniforms, and our coach brought us the cutest ribbons for our hair. Tons of people came to watch us. I love volleyball!
FAQ #2: Really? Only three practices? You learned the game of volleyball in three days?
Catie: Oh, I totally haven’t learned the Game of Volleyball. I just know how much fun it is to laugh with your friends. Maybe, by the next game, we’ll understand everything about when to rotate and how to serve. Knowing stuff like that will probably help us play the game.
FAQ #3: So far, it seems like volleyball might be more social for you than athletic. Is that right?
Catie: I’m not sure what you mean by that. But I do want to tell you that the VERY BEST part of the game last night was when my whole team started screaming “Happy Birthday” to me. We were just laughing and laughing. I cannot wait until our second game next week. I have so many hilarious jokes to tell my friends. I love volleyball!
