Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, but this determined little girl has a very specific name she wants you to call her.
If you were with us for this post, back in 2011, you’re probably guessing she’s insisting everyone call her Elisabeth.
Nope. To review, here’s a timeline about how Little Miss Black and White changed her name to Elisabeth. You’ll notice two things in this timeline…
1. The sheer focus of this girl. She believed her name was Elisabeth; anyone who called her Ellie was wrong, wrong, wrong.
2. I pointed out to her several times that Ellie would be much easier to write than Elisabeth.
Now, in a miraculous turn of events, the Girl Who Knows No Grey has decided Ellie may not be so bad after all.
In fact, she has talked her teachers, classmates, and twin into calling her Ellie.
The only gray area left is that EVERYONE ELSE is still calling her Elisabeth. Which, she begrudgingly admits is okay, since she remembers insisting that was her name.
All this to say that after five years and ten months, you can call her any name you want, and she’ll answer.
Maybe this is a good life lesson for her…
if you’re too black and white about anything, you end up in the grey.
Or, you end up with a lot of different names.
She’ll always be Ellie to me.
