Hello Tina-From-Six-Years-Ago…
You look so happy! I remember, of course, you were not completely content on this night in early October, visiting the pumpkin patch. I remember the recent miscarriage you had just experienced, the hurtful book rejection, the uncertainty of what God had in store.
And He had so much in store! I remember how much love you showered on Catie (i.e. ease up on that grip there, mama).
You look so bright eyed, so healthy. Good for you. The next era of your life, the extreme baby years, might take away some of that freshness, so I’m glad to see you enjoying the bottomless energy now.
Despite the recent bad news, Tina-From-Six-Years-Ago, everything feels so new to you right now, doesn’t it? The trip you and M just returned from, a week in the Bahamas. The (I’ll be honest with you now, slightly obnoxious) fascination with your first child. The rising stock portfolio. The budding friendships.
What would you say if I told you about the stock-market crash that will come in a couple years, one that would devastate so many portfolios (including your own)? What would you say if I told you that your budding friendships would die when you moved 45 minutes away? What would you say if I told you about the three other kids who would come…would you believe you could love them just as much as Catie (but with a healthy dose of experience to clarify it all)?
Trust God. He’s promised you such good things. Don’t rely on your own understanding. This too shall pass.
God will bless you with even more than you can imagine. Stop worrying and go enjoy that bottomless energy!
Love,
2011-Tina
PS. Apple’s stock is $7.00 a share. You should really buy some.

Funny….Catie’s sweatshirt looks similar to one Clara had in her closet, but it was *slightly* less sparkly and had a broken zipper. (-:
