Right now, lots of things. Specifically four.

*A book contract. The world of book publishing is the slowest industry still thriving this century. Sure, you might be able to download any book onto your Kindle in about four seconds, but I can guarantee that author did a lot of waiting to get it to that format. Waiting for the decision. The contract. The edits. It’s neverending. I’ve waited for the details of this contract for almost six months. And now, it looks like, they’ll come the same week as our fourth child.
*Our fourth child–of course. Just another thing I’m waiting for. More so than my other pregnancies, I can’t wait to have this one to hold him and snuggle him and meet him…and to stop getting progressively pregnant every day. There’s just no room for him anymore. Really, Lord, the baby would be much happier in the nursery specifically appointed for him.
*The rain to pass. I think all of Houston is after six straight days of afternoon showers. Sunshine and pool weather cannot return fast enough. Maybe then the other kids will stop making themselves comfortable in the nursery specifically appointed for the baby.
*My hair to grow. Still Joan Jett ten days later. Maybe the baby and the contract and better hair will all come the same day. And maybe all that will start when the oppressive humidity leaves our city.

  1. I don’t think the rain is going to stop any time soon. I’m thinking of canceling our YMCA membership. The pool is only open another month, and I’ve used it with Bella all of 5 times. It seriously rains or thunders just about every time we try to go.
