Elisabeth’s younger brother and older sister joined her this year at her school. Let’s (fraudulently) chat with this middle child about how she feels sharing the spotlight.
FAQ #1: What a huge change for you, Elisabeth! This year your big sister and little brother are at your school. How is that going?
Elisabeth: Good. So far, I’ve only been called Catie three times! And only seventeen people have told me how cute Nate is.
FAQ #2: Really? People mistake you for your sister? How does that make you feel?
Elisabeth: Weird because Catie and I are really not that much alike. Look at our hair in this picture. I always wear perfect pig tails. Catie? Ummmm. I don’t even know. Lots of times her hair is kind of crimped or something. Let’s just say we really don’t look alike.
FAQ #3: And Nate? Is it fun to see him around your school? Do teachers think you and Nate look alike?
Elisabeth: Nate’s teachers don’t really notice much because they’re always holding him. Nate loves to be carried, so it’s a little hard for his teachers to really see anything at all. Or to even see where they’re walking.
FAQ #4: So, overall…. is it fun to have more of your siblings at your school?
Elisabeth: Fun is getting a surprise lollipop from my teacher. Fun is playing with all my new Kindergarten friends at recess. Fun is being the oldest in my class. I wait to see how many people mistake me for Catie before I call this fun.
